Richard Dawkins

I didn’t read the ‚God Delusion‘, Dawkins newest ‚Bestseller‘, but his famous seminal book he wrote in the seventieth of the last century: „The Selfish Genes“
I extract some Ideas – I found noticable – of this book :

1. Dawkins charakteristika of what LIFE is in a nutshell – Molecules that make copies of themselves. (Replicators)
2.
That there could be ’selfreplicating MEMES‘ (in contrast to ‚GENES‘).
MEMES as cultural units of imitation. Selfish ones, to stress.
3. That we alone on earth could rebel against these MEMES of cultural indoctrination.
4. That Philosphy and the subject known as ‚humanities‘ are still taught almost as if Darwin had never lived.

It is – I think – a genuine pessimistic view of our species.( In the following of Bernard de Mandeville.)
