Titians Masterful Penetration of the Human Soul
PARIS The Louvre Museum struck gold with the fascinating show featuring Titian and the two most important painters of the next two generations who tried to emulate him.
Titian was over 50 when he depicted in 1542 the hopeful innocence of extreme youth. Despite the self-assurance that his privileged social background would have induced in him, Ranuccio Farnese, who is portrayed in his early teens, exudes a mix of happiness and freshness that says all about Titians depth of understanding of human feelings irrespective of age.
