Nederlands Dans Theater at City Center

One of the world’s great dance companies returns to New York with several previously unseen works. Paul Lightfoot, the artistic director, and his partner Sol León present “Stop-Motion,” an elegant meditation on death, and “Safe as Houses,” which features a large spinning wall. Additional works include “The Statement,” something of a corporate thriller, by the savvy Canadian Crystal Pite, and Marco Goecke’s “Woke Up Blind,” set to the woeful tunes of Jeff Buckley (2:10). After a Tuesday preview at the Guggenheim (offered as part of that museum’s Works & Process series), the company will be at New York City Center Wednesday through next Saturday. BRIAN SCHAEFER
